OUR JENNETS

Our breeding jennets range in age from 5-13 years and in size from 30-1/4 to 34-1/4 inches.

While awaiting the birth of a new foal, it has always been exciting for us to anticipate what features, size, color, and personality the newborn will possess. We hope you enjoy reading the stories and seeing the pictures of our brood jennets and discovering the endless possibilities in their offspring.

LND's Mini Donk Ranch BeeBee

September 1998

30-1/4"

Gray-Dun

Sire: Pigtail Farms French Fry 32-1/2"

Dam: LND's Mini Donk Ranch Heidi 33-1/2"

BB is our sweetheart. We fell in love the minute we laid eyes on her. She came into our family with a disfigured face and visually impaired. Her unfortunate story is that she was attacked by a jack when she was a newborn. Having the most wonderful disposition, she patiently waits her turn when treats are handed out. BB is the most compact jennet we have with the kinkiest, curliest coat!

CLK Buttons

1996

32"

Gray-Dun

Sire: Unknown

Dam: Unknown

Due to foal July 2008

Little Buttons came to us along with her best friend, Bows, who towers over her with a 36" height. She produces very calm-natured and subdued babies - excellent for homes with small children. She presents a straight topline with an unusual thin/fading shoulder stripe, and is very rounded.

Spring Ridge Danielle

October 1993

34-1/8"

Gray & White Spotted

Sire: Unknown

Dam: Unknown

Due to foal April 2008

Danielle has been an excellent brood jennet and is quite a "looker." She has a unique browning feature on her ears and extending down from her large eye patches toward her nose. She presents with a straight topline and a unique shoulder stripe which is short and tapered on the right and fading on the left.

LND's Mini Donk Ranch Heidi

33-1/2"

Brown/ Slate Gray & White Spotted

Sire: Spring Ridge Bud 32-1/2"

Dam: KAH Bunny 32-1/2"

Due to foal October 2008

We brought Heidi to our farm along with her daughter BeeBee, our little disfigured face gal. They will always be together as long as we have anything to say about it! Heidi has been an excellent mom blessing us with very sweet and calm-natured foals. We always know when Heidi’s coming - she gets as big as a barn when she’s pregnant! Heidi has been very consistent in her production of quality foals. She is a rounded and stocky beautiful spot.

Salt Marsh Farms Amelia

May 1999

32"

Dark Brown

Sire: Salt Marsh Farms Dominick 32-1/2"

Dam: Salt Marsh Farms Holly 34-1/2"

"Millie" has consistently produced very dark foals for us. She is almost black with a barely visible cross. Her coat is beautiful and slick and she is full of eye appeal! She has an attractive tannish nose with a black muzzle.

Big Al's Sassy

1991

32-1/2"

Gray-Dun

Sire: Unknown

Dam: Unknown

Due to foal June 2008

Sassy has the most beautiful light reddish face. She is rounded with a straight topline. She is always fully dressed not only with her collar buttons and garters, but with her anklets, too!

34"

Dark Brown

Sire: Unknown

Dam: 758's Gula-Gula 30-1/2"

Otherwise known as our "Little Sheba." Sheba is absolutely a beautiful jennet. She's everything a classic jennet should be - pretty head, rounded, straight topline, full of eye appeal, slick coat, width of chest, muscular, and stocky.

Sierra has a pretty head with beautiful eye rings, has a straight topline, is well-rounded, and has a good pedigree. She's a member of our original"Three Musketeers" group!

MHT Silver Cloud

September 1993

34-1/4"

Slate Gray & White Spotted

Sire: Unknown

Dam: Unknown

Silver has been one of our top producers of quality foals. She has had the most beautiful jennet foals that are brown/slate gray and white spotted. Silver's coloring is an unusual "bright" white! Setting herself apart from the others, three of her hooves are half black/half natural striped.

Crescent's Sugar & Spice

April 1993

32"

Red/Brown

Sire: Fisher's Tiny Ligioneer

Dam: Crescent's Sissy 33"

Due to foal November 2008

Sugar is another one of our excellent brood jennets with the pretty face, beautiful eyes, well-rounded and stocky. She has blessed us many times over with beautiful babies. One of her great productions was a jack, Pepper, who has what it takes in conformation and pedigree to be an excellent herd sire.

CLK Izzie B.

May 2006

Immature (21" at birth)

Gray-Dun

Sire: MHT Giovanni, Jr. 33-3/4"

Dam: LND's Mini Donk Ranch BeeBee 30-1/4"

Will be bred Spring 2009

Izzie B. stole our hearts when we first saw her. Measuring just 20-1/2” at birth, she is the smallest miniature born here at CLK Ranch. She is as special to us as her Mom has always been. She is going to mature very small like her Mom and we’re looking forward to adding her to our line of brood jennets in the future.

LT's Lady Levi

September 1995

32-1/2"

Brown/Gray & White Spotted Jennet

Sire: D.W.E. Levi 32"

Dam: Georgia's Best JP 34"

Due to foal October 2008

The Lady loves treats! She manages to force her way through the donkey crowd and be right at the front when it's treat time! There's no stopping her when the treats are all gone either. She'll keep following you just to make sure. Lady quickly established herself as the matriarch of our donkey family when we brought her home. Lady has a straight topline with an unusually bold and wide shoulder stripe and intermittent back stripe. Not to be outdone by Silver's distinctive hoof markings, Lady sports one black hoof and "ankle sock." Lady's markings are striking. She is a full blaze with a speckled muzzle. She has a dark neck and dorsal spots, as well as dark markings on her legs.
